PROSPERO ANO TO ALL

 A Belated New Years Update:

Christmas has come and gone and now here we are in a brand New Year. January 2009 already!!! And a good year it will be!

 A Short Recap:

I went back to San Juan Del Sur for a break after working a long 2008 in the coal mines of Tumbler Ridge, BC. During that time in the north, I had been without my little family in San Juan as I toiled to reconnect with life in Canada and all the details that go along with alarm clocks and rules.

All things considered, 2008 blessed me with many new friends in the Great White North in addition to getting caught up on life and times the Canadian way.

 A Little R&R in Nicaragua...

December 08 and January 09 in San Juan Del Sur, with my little family was awesome. Yes, in a world where dreams abound and the story continues…it’s all good!  Where wind blows gently across the sea, palm trees swing to and fro as I watch my children smile, sing, dance and play on the beach.

It all seems like a dream now. For I am back to work in the Great White North. For the most part, I will be here at least until spring then I plan on heading back to Central America and to sea.

 Cruising Central America

If things pan out as planned, I’ll be sailing down the coast of Costa Rica and Panama as first mate aboard a friend’s 50 ft cutter. The purpose of the exercise is to finish my cruising guide of Central America, complete with Costa Rica and Panama included.

Thus far I’ve covered Southern Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua. All that remains before we can go to press is detailed research of Costa Rica and Panama. Should my book not be first…it will be BEST!  If there is pessimism about the world’s economic future, I am very optimistic this is a time, for those who wish, to sail forth in giant leaps and bounds. Learn more...

This is the year that we will start our sailing program called the “Spirit of San Juan”.  I will have more on this subject to come.

 WORLD KIDS FOUNDATION

2009 promises to be an exciting year for World Kids Foundation. To kick-start a few small projects around San Juan Del Sur, friends of Tumbler Ridge pulled together $417. to help make repairs to several schools in San Juan.  And to bring Christmas to under-privileged children that were not on Santa’s southern route.

We’re also looking at starting up a Piñata factory. Something simple and needed that can put a dozen or more single moms to work. Economy!  Single mothers need jobs, not hand outs.

Challenges lay ahead but nothing beyond our ability to endure.

Take care mates, hope this short update finds you well.

Thinking of you.
